Termites can cause serious damages to building structures, resulting in expensive remedial treatments. Also known as ‘white ants’, termites live by the millions in colonies and they feed on wood, leaf litter, soil and animal dung.
Cracked or bubbling paint, mud tubes on exterior walls and wooden beams, and wood that sounds hollow when tapped are among the many signs revealing these pests at work. Upon finding their way into a home or commercial building, termites would also feed on fabric, paper and carpeting material.
