The Challenge

One of our team from Ipoh Branch, received a customer complaint from a convenience store experiencing frequent bird activity at the storefront. Pigeons and starlings regularly landed on the roller shutter, leaving bird droppings, feathers, and dirt around the entrance. The issue affected the cleanliness and hygiene of the store and created an unpleasant experience for customers entering the premises.

Site Inspection & Recommendation

After conducting a site inspection, our technical team identified the roller shutter as the main landing and resting point for birds. To provide a long-term and humane solution, Reiko recommended installing stainless steel bird spikes along the roller shutter to eliminate available landing points and discourage birds from perching around the storefront.

Implementation

Before installation, the roller shutter surface was thoroughly cleaned to remove accumulated dirt and bird droppings. Our team then installed bird spikes across the entire roller shutter area, ensuring all potential landing points were covered to provide effective and long-lasting bird protection.

The Result

The bird spike installation was completed in July 2026. During follow-up visits after the installation, the customer reported that there were no further complaints regarding pigeons or starlings. The storefront remained clean, hygienic, and free from bird landing activity, demonstrating the effectiveness of the bird spike solution.

Customer Success Highlight

Bird spike installation successfully eliminated bird landing points on the roller shutter. Since the installation in July 2026, the customer has not reported any further bird-related complaints, helping maintain a cleaner and more welcoming store entrance.
