At Ikari, we were engaged by a Hotel after receiving repeated complaints of ant infestations in both the lift lobby area and guest rooms. The issue became a recurring concern, affecting guest comfort and overall hotel experience.

In March, our team attended to the first complaints by carrying out targeted ant gel baiting at the affected areas. After the initial treatment, the immediate ant activity was reduced, and no ants were observed in the originally treated locations. However, new complaints continued to appear in other rooms, showing that the infestation was still active and spreading within the building.

Through further inspection, we found that the ants were entering rooms through gaps in bed frames and wall cracks, especially when food was present in the rooms. This indicated that the infestation was not limited to one area, but was more widespread across multiple rooms. On average, the hotel received around 3 to 4 ant complaints per week, showing an ongoing pest issue.

To better control the situation, Ikari implemented a more comprehensive approach by placing ant gel bait stations in every room, targeting both visible and hidden ant activity sources. This strategy allowed the bait to be distributed more widely and consistently across the property.

Following this treatment plan, ant complaints reduced significantly. In the current month, the hotel only recorded one minor ant complaint in a room, showing clear improvement in pest control performance.
Overall, while the ant infestation has not been completely eliminated, the treatment has successfully reduced and controlled the pest population. This case shows that continuous baiting and area-wide can control ant infestation effectively.
