At Ikari, we were engaged by a restaurant in Ipoh that was facing a serious cockroach infestation in the kitchen areas. The cockroach pest problem had become severe and could not be controlled through normal cleaning and routine pest control methods.

During our inspection, we identified several key causes of the cockroach infestation. There was heavy organic buildup in the drainage system, which provided both a food source and breeding ground for cockroaches. We also observed wall cracks and gaps that allowed them to hide and move easily between different areas. In addition, food debris accumulated beneath heavy kitchen equipment created ideal harbourage sites for cockroaches to survive and multiply. Furthermore, cockroach activity was detected inside machinery power panels. Due to the sensitivity of these electrical components, misting or liquid spray treatments cannot be applied, as they may damage the equipment.
The ARS Red Treatment is most suitable for enclosed areas, as the treatment gas can remain contained for a longer period, allowing it to fully penetrate cockroach hiding spots. In areas with air duct systems or sensitive machinery such as power panels, preventive measures were taken by sealing the equipment using plastic wraps, canvas, and other protective materials to minimize gas leakage and prevent potential damage during the treatment process.
In this case, as there was no air duct system, the ARS Red Treatment proved to be highly effective against the cockroach infestation. The treatment was able to penetrate deeply into drains, cracks, crevices, hidden voids, and even machinery panel areas, flushing out cockroaches from their harbourage sites and delivering a strong and immediate knockdown effect.
After the ARS Red Treatment, there was a significant reduction in cockroach activity throughout the restaurant. The client was very satisfied with the ARS Red Treatment results, as the cockroach infestation was quickly brought under control and hygiene conditions improved noticeably. Based on the success of the ARS Red Treatment, the client agreed to proceed with a quarterly pest control treatment plan. This ensures continuous protection and helps prevent future cockroach infestations.
